Santa Fe, NM & Annapolis, MD | sjc.edu

St. John’s College is the third oldest college in the nation with locations in Santa Fe, NM and Annapolis, MD. Both campuses have fewer than 500 students each, making us a small, private, liberal arts college. What makes St. John’s College so unique is that we have one major and all our students complete the same liberal arts courses. Students take four years of mathematics, three years of laboratory sciences, plus French, Ancient Greek, Philosophy, Literature, Political Science, Music Theory, and more. These classes are taught in a discussion-based method, with all students and teachers sitting around a seminar table, allowing everyone to have a voice. Each class is taught with primary sources instead of textbooks, so students learn from the original designers of the topics. Students have the option to study on both campuses during their four years.
